this is prayer

inspired by the poem This is faith by Ruhiyyih Khanum and unit 2 on Prayer of Ruhi book 1.

To be in His nearness while on earth
To attain the Divine Presence in the physical world
To beseech, supplicate and ask for assistance
This is prayer.

The natural impulse in a world of nature
The light unto the ocean of His Presence
The sweetest thing in the world of existence
This is prayer.

A connection to the divine worlds far away
A fire that burns the invisible veils
A loving conversation with your Creator
This is prayer.

Creates spirituality, mindfulness and celestial feelings
Guidance to the path of God
Food for your soul
This is prayer.

Drawing closer to God without movement
Listening for an answer without a sound
Enjoying spiritual nourishment without feeling full
The ladder between earth and heaven without climbing
This is prayer.

Make of my prayer a fire to burn away the veils
And lead me to Thy presence.
