who moved my cheese is a book that talks about changes and how we deal with them. the story is of two mice and two human beings running in a maze looking for Cheese. the Cheese can of course represent anything that we find valuable in life.
the mice don't care all that much about things but just run around based on instincts looking for cheese, whereas the humans analyze things. they finally find their Cheese, but eventually run out of it. how will they react, and what will they do?
the book is probably meant as an introduction to a training programme about dealing with change, and should be read in relation to that with following discussions (see whomovedmycheese.com). in my opinion, it's a bit too basic and doesn't really deal all that well with how one should act and react for changes. sure, it's good to be prepared in case something happens, but on the other hand you should also try your best in creating and changing the environment you are at to make it a good place to stay.
and of course, there are thousands of other motivational books that deal with the same thing; change your mind, and the rest will follow. the most important thing is always what's running in your head, that will decide how you react and see things happening around you.
