last wednesday was the birthday of my flatmate's cousin. so I sent him an e-mail, saying "you, me, x, y. tomorrow. dinner. 7 pm." and that's it. supposedly it would be a small dinner, the four of us.
that's what he thought. in reality, we had invited about 20-25 people to surprise him, and it really worked out well. he didn't expect anything, we even caught the video of him being surprised (up on facebook). here's a pic:
