then they came for...

... the Baha'is?

here's a touching post by u.s. congressman mark steven kirk, about the situation of the Baha'is in iran.

here's (one of apparently many versions of) the poem by Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984):

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

and iranian president ahmadinejad answering on the question why the Baha'is are deprived of their human rights:

let's hope it ends differently this time...
